Medical Simulation and Training
LSU Emergency Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, and Kinesiology, 2024–25
Medical skill lives in the hands. Simulation lets clinicians build that skill safely, repeatedly, and measurably before working with patients. Our team develops immersive training platforms across three LSU partnerships.
With LSU Emergency Medicine, we built middle line procedure training that lets practitioners rehearse a delicate vascular access procedure in an immersive environment. With the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, we developed a veterinary training platform for clinical education. With LSU Kinesiology, we are integrating fNIRS brain imaging, biomechanics, and virtual reality to understand how people learn physical skills.
Each project applies the same conviction: visualization and embodiment are teaching technologies. The XR Studio's simulation pipeline serves medicine as readily as it serves manufacturing.
